| ECG screening should be part of every small animal practice. In my practice, we use it as part of our Annual Exam and for patients that are to receive anesthesia. Preanesthetic ECG is well received by clients and gives you another layer of safety for performing uncomplicated procedures. ECG screening as part of your annual examination will surprise you at how many of your patients, especially feline, have occult heart disease. I have used the Biolog for ECG screening since 1997 in canine and feline patients. It is an ideal machine for this purpose due to its portability, reliability, and rapid printing capabilities. In addition, the tracings can be quickly and easily downloaded to a PC. I highly recommend ECG screening as part of your daily practice routine. The Biolog will make this one of the most time and cost effective procedures you will perform. Gary D. Norsworthy, DVM Every piece of technological equipment in our practice either has to generate income as a diagnostic tool, or to fill the roll of monitoring patient vital signs. In the case of the Biolog, it fulfills both rolls. We have used the Biolog for over 12 years in our practice as an alternative to paying ever escalating fees for cardiac telemedicine. The unit is routinely used as one of a number of pre-anaesthetic options for patients of all ages, part of our senior's preventive program, monitoring anaesthesia and for cardiac work-ups.
